Your Right to Data Deletion
We respect your right to request the deletion of your personal information and contributions from our memorial site. This page explains how you can exercise this right.
What Data Can Be Deleted
Upon request, we can delete:
- Your account information (name, email, profile details)
- Your contributions (memories, stories, comments)
- Media files you've uploaded (photos, videos)
- Any other personal information associated with your account
How to Request Data Deletion
To request deletion of your data, you have the following options:
Option 1: Email Request
Send an email to admin@memorialsite.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the following information:
- Your full name
- Email address associated with your account
- Brief description of the content you wish to have deleted
Option 2: Account Settings
If you have an account and are logged in:
- Navigate to your account profile
- Select "Privacy Settings"
- Click on "Delete My Data"
- Follow the prompts to confirm your request
Timeframe for Processing Requests
We will process all data deletion requests within 30 days of receipt. You will receive a confirmation email once your request has been processed. In some cases, we may need additional information to verify your identity before proceeding with the deletion.
Data Retention
Please note that even after processing your deletion request, some information may be retained for:
- Legal compliance purposes
- Prevention of fraud or abuse
- Analytical purposes (in anonymized form only)
Any retained data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Data
If your request involves data that has been shared with third-party services (such as social media platforms if you've shared content there), we will make best efforts to forward deletion requests, but cannot guarantee removal from systems outside our direct control.
